It's mid-June, and the Sound is coming alive.... - Larger striped bass have been caught on bunker chunks--with the average keeper 31-38; bluefish of all sizes are coming in--using topwater poppers--in 60-80 ft. depths. Fluke are being caught, but most of them are shorts. We haven't seen porgies on more...

Stripers are on the move - We put the boat in the water this past week and took a quick exploratory ride inshore looking for some stripers. We found them quickly and had fun with fish from six to sixteen pounds. We started at 11:00 AM and were finished at 1:00 PM. Not the best more...

An Early Snowfall and an Early End to the Fishing Season - We had planned on pulling MY BONNIE out of the water on November 12, but we'll be doing it a bit sooner because of the very cold weather and high winds we've been experiencing here for the past two weeks, including a heavy snowfall last Saturday. No more...

The season is definitely waning... - On Columbus Day the weather was again perfect, and we had Mike Moriarty and Mike Jr. from Kent. We had a great day starting at 7:30 in the middle of the Sound, jigging bluefish until 10am, after which we went looking for porgies inshore, where the ac more...

The bluefish are hungry - We finished our season this week with a very successful bluefish trip. We had them all day with the average size around eight lbs. There were a lot of bay anchovies that are still hanging around. The colder nights will have them moving south pretty s more...
