August, Same As July for Me. - August is a tricky month. Where I fish in the river, it's pretty much no different than July. It's all about dealing with the heat, and very warm water.

Pompano fishing is hot! - Port Orange and the Halifax River had some really nice pompano show up this week. The best bite was about 2 hours before the high tide. Some of these pompano are measuring 16-18 to the fork. Small, live shrimp on an 1/8 oz. jig head should get em more...
